Introducing Madisson

I figured I might as well introduce myself here first! My name is Madisson Blake, I'm a romance author in my 5-9s and an attorney in my 9-5s. If I'm not at work, I am reading or writing.

I have an eclectic taste in not only books but also in movies and music. I will read pretty much any genre (please keep self-help and sci-fi away from me though), although my favorites are undoubtedly romance and fantasy. Bonus points for the book if it's romantasy! My music taste ranges from country to nu metal, folk music to Broadway. Movies, well, I also go between light and fluffy romcoms to dark and twisty psychological thrillers or slashers.

My dog, Sherlock Bones, is my sidekick in everything. He's either in my lap or beside my desk chair when I'm writing. As I write this, he is currently taking up all real estate in my lap.

Now, here's a fun fact (fun for you, not for me) about me: I have three primary fears or phobias.

1) Spiders (this is totally reasonable and rational);

2) Outer Space (it's beautiful, I know, but there are too many unknowns and it's too big while also being empty. If it comes down to us having to evacuate to Mars or die on Earth...I will be going down with the ship); and

3) Zombies.

No need to elaborate on the last one; they are terrifying and I would not be surviving a zombie apocalypse.

On to what you're really here for: my books! My debut, The Case For Us, will be releasing early 2026 and is being published by Koehler Books, a publishing company in my hometown, Virginia Beach. It combines romance with a mystery as the two main characters are forced to confront their past while putting together a first degree murder case they are prosecuting. It's a second-chance, friends to strangers to lovers, forced proximity, workplace romance set in a small coastal Virginian town. This book is my first, and I look forward to introducing you to these characters and to more down the road!
